How to get Baby Freebies in Canada

Look out expectant and new moms... this post is for you! I collected a fair share of baby freebies before Avery was born and I thought I would share them with anyone who might be interested. Most were hassle free and only required that I sign up online or in store. In most cases I was able to pick up the swag bag in store. Some items were packaged and shipped directly to my door within a few weeks of registering. Here are some companies and retailers that offer freebies:

Huggies: When you sign up for Huggies' No Baby Unhugged program they will send these freebies to your door:
  • Huggies Special Delivery Newborn Diapers (32 ct),
  • Huggies baby wipes (60 ct), and
  • Various coupons

Nestle: Once you join the Nestle Baby & Me program they will send you a Ready for Baby Pack within a month of your expected due date. The package includes:
  • Nestle Good Start Ready-to-feed (4 bottles),
  • Nestle Good Start Stage 1 Baby Formula (1 can), and
  • Various coupons

Similac: Members joining the Similac Club are eligible to receive a box of free goodies. The package includes:
  • Similac Advance Step 1 Powder Formula (1 can),
  • Similac Total Comfort Step 1 Powder (1 can),
  • Similac Advance Step 1 Ready to use (1 bottle)
  • Similac Infant Nipple & Ring
  • Rebate cheques
  • Coupon

Enfamil: Parents who sign up for Enfamil's My Family Beginnings Program will receive a box of free samples in the mail within two weeks of signing up. The box includes:
  • Enfamil A+ Nursette Ready-to-feed  (6 pack)
  • Enfamil Standard-flow soft nipples (3 pack)
  • Enfamil A+ Gentlease single serve packets (16 pack)
  • Coupon

Buy Buy Baby: When you sign up for their baby registry you will receive a goody bag. Mine consisted of:
  • Philips Avent baby bottle (4.5oz),
  • Philips Avent newborn soother,
  • WaterWipes baby wipes (60 ct)
  • Several sample products (Boogie Wipes, shampoo, body wash, etc.), and
  • Retailer coupons

Babies R Us: Once you start a baby registry they will hook you up with a free swag bag. Mine included:
  • NUK Simply Natural baby bottle (5oz),
  • MAM newborn soother,
  • Lansinoh breastfeeding sample pack (2 nursing pads, 2 breast milk storage bags),
  • Aleva Naturals bamboo diaper (1 ct),
  • Several sample products (baby wipes, stretch mark fream, shampoo, body wash, etc.)
  • Various coupons

Thyme Maternity: After signing up for their Bump Benefits either online or in store, Thyme offers all expectant mothers a gift consisting of:
  • Pampers Newborn Swaddlers (20 ct),
  • Philips Avent baby bottle (4.5oz),
  • Philips nursing pads,
  • Several sample products (diaper cream, shampoo, body wash), as well as
  • Retailer coupons (For Thyme, Babies R Us and RW&CO)

I drafted this post several months ago and unfortunately Thyme Maternity has now closed :(

Doctor's Offices: Some doctor's officers give away Pampers' diaper and wipes sample kits. Mine didn't offer any but a friend of mine was kind enough to grab one for me! Be on the lookout for any offered by your obstetrician or your child's pediatrician/practitioner. The kit included:
  • Pampers compact diaper bag,
  • Pampers Newborn Swaddlers (5 ct),
  • Pampers Sensitive baby wipes (6 ct), and
  • Various coupons

The benefit of registering early was that I received most of these items at least a month and a half before baby was born. I was able to pack away many of these items into our hospital bag. The other items I stored away in her nursery or the kitchen for use once we got home from the hospital. Since most of the swag bags included coupons I was able to stock up on extra diapers, wipes and other essentials prior to her arrival. I hope this list is useful to you!

Thanks for reading. Until next time,
E.
