Prior to visiting The Basil Box, I had heard many good things about it. I read great reviews and saw many posts on Instagram that had me intrigued. J and I had originally planned to have dinner after work at Salad King, but we quickly changed our minds after peering in through the windows of Basil Box just across the street.
The place was brightly lit and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful to us first-timers. The restaurant uses Southeast Asian inspired flavours and their boxes are completely customizable (with vegetarian options!).
The cafeteria style eatery is similar to Subway, where you make your way through a line and choose your base, toppings, sauces, etc. There were five steps to building your own box (the last two steps were my favourite!):
