My husband and I have been meaning to go apple picking for some time now. Thankfully, we have been having some warm weather here in Toronto so we spent this past Saturday enjoying the outdoors and some sweet treats.
We have many apple orchards here in Toronto but we had a hard time choosing one. Some charge a hefty admission fee and others a minimum charge per bushel. We called around and finally decided on Carl Laidlaw Orchards located in Brampton, Ontario. They offer over 20 varieties of apples and even 3 types of pears. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the orchard and the beautiful views of Credit River. They have great staff and a very family friendly atmosphere complete with wagon rides, a hay barn, make your own apple pies and even roast your own hot dogs and corn on the cob. Admission costs $4 per adult and $3 per child and they charged $1.40/lb of apples. We had a great time at the orchard and I just can't get over how delicious and sweet their apples were. We'll definitely be back again next year!
